Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die: Ideas for Parties, Pantries & Hanukkah

Photobucket

Welcome to the last stop on the Stampin’ Addicts 2011 New Catalog Blog Hop!   If you’re hopping in order, you’ve just been admiring Yapha’s creations at Rubber Stamping & Card Making with Yapha.  She always comes up with such fun ideas!

Here at InkPaperStamps, we’re playing with the new Sizzix Perfect Pennants Bigz L die, a Stampin’ Up! exclusive.  (To add to the fun, we’re also offering some blog candy!)

PARTY TIME:  Send in a Clown

The Perfect Pennants die is chock full of possibilities for punch art fans, kinda like a Volkswagon at a circus.  So it’s only fitting that the first thing we share with you today is this cute clown:

Want a more colorful collar for your clown? Layer half a circle (punched from cardstock that coordinates with the pompom) under the half doily.

PRETTY PANTRY:  Label Your Lentils

Recently, I’ve been reorganizing our pantry to make it easier to cook from scratch.  All my dry goods look so pretty in their new Mason jar homes, but it’s a little hard to tell the jasmine rice from the basmati, the red beans from the adzuki.

Perfect Pennants die to the rescue!

Back some metallic shelf liner paper with a fresh DSP, run it through your Big Shot and cut a length of linen thread to tie the shiny doily diecut to your jar.  All you need now is a china marker (aka a grease pencil) to add what’s in the jar.

if you want a little fancier look (or, in my case, have handwriting that leaves something to be desired), punch out computer-generated labels and attach them with a Stampin' Dimensional.

HANUKKAH SPINNER GAME:  Are We There Already?

With Perfect Pennants and some spinner hands, it’s easy to create a little travel game for long car rides or for waiting at the airport.

Hanukkah starts late this year (December 20, I believe), so I imagine many Jewish families will be able to travel further than usual to share the celebrations with loved ones.

When available surfaces aren’t stable enough or suitable for spinning dreidels, maybe this spinner game will help young ones pass the time en route?

Being Methodist, my collection of Star of David stamps is sorely lacking, so I used the 6-petal flower from the Boho Blossoms. Boy, I hope that's not a smite-able offense. . . .

The Perfect Pennants die is so versatile, The Dog and I really had to debate how to narrow down the ideas to show you today.  If you’d like to be among the first to see the rest of them, kindly subscribe to InkPaperStamps’ free updates.

Your Hannukah spinner is awesome, and the boho blosson six petal flower IS close to a Star of David…. how clever of you to notice it!!!

  16. Deb B (Debadoo) says:

Awesome!! As always. That clown is sooooo cute, even if you didn’t use any purple on him. Tsk, tsk tsk. lol Love how you used the punch out pieces for the eyes. And that flat dreidel!! Genius!! And has Yapha’s seal of approval. Hope you sneaked this idea to her for the trip they just took. I am a Christian but we lean strongly to Christianity’s Hebrew heritage, and I did some lattice die cross cards for our church that had the boho blossom flower on them awhile back, and it struck me just how much it resembled the Star of David on there. Loved it. Now I’m wondering if I can recreate any of these with the petal cone die since that’s the one I just ordered!! lol Oh, and not entering for the blog candy, just wanted to give you kudos!! Hugs

  17. Linda Uhrin says:

Thanks for sharing your talent. Hugs to the dog!
