Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch: Three Treats in One

Welcome to Stop #1 on the Stampin Addicts 2011 Summer Mini Blog Hop.   For those who started mid-hop, you’ve successfully rounded the bend from Stampin & Stitchin on Paper (that Kim, isn’t she creative?) and are now at the top of the hop.

If you love punches, then you’re in for a treat.  This mini has not one but three (count ‘em, three!) new punches:  the Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch, the Doily triple layer punch and the Postage Stamp punch.

Wondering what a triple layer punch is?  That means one punch can create three different punch outs. . . all you have to do is select the output you want and press to punch.  Oh my, the punch art possibilities are mind boggling!

Here at InkPaperStamps, we’re playing with the Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch. (Well, we’ve been playing with the Doily triple layer punch and the Postage Stamp punch too–but to highlight the new triple layer punch concept, today we’re just sharing ideas for the Blossom Bouquet punch.)

As always, to add to the fun, we’re also offering some blog candy!

LAYER 1: An invitation to clown around.

The most simple setting yields a solid, eight-scallop circle.  To me, it looked like just the thing for a clown’s ruffled collar.  What do you think?

LAYER 3: Put a Bow on a 3x3 Gift Enclosure

The most involved setting yields an eight-petal flower with open centers.  A snip here, a snip there and it becomes a lovely bow for a punch art present.

And what better decoration for a 3×3 gift enclosure than a punch art present?

LAYER 2: Frame Up a Rose Window

It was the intermediate setting, however, that really tickled my fancy.  This setting punches a smaller solid, eight-scallop circle inside its larger couterpart, making a hollow eight-scallop ring as well.

The hollow ring reminded me of a rose window in a great cathedral . . . which got me to wondering if you could make a fun fold card with it. . . which it turns out you can.

So, without further ado, The Dog and I take great pride in presenting to you the Rose Window fun fold card.  Tah dah!

Now before anyone says, ‘Hey, that just looks like a tent topper card. . . .’, well, yes, from this angle it does.  But it’s not.  And if we were allotted one more picture, I could show you.

But we aren’t.

So I can’t.  Not today, anyway.

But fear not:  a tutorial for the Rose Window card is in the works.  If you’d like to be among the first to see it (as well as ideas for the Postage Stamp punch and the Doily triple layer punch), kindly subscribe to InkPaperStamps’ free updates.
