Petal Cone Die: It’s a Punch Art Pizza Party!

Welcome to Stop #2 on the Stampin Addicts 2011 Techniques Blog Hop

This is one of my favorite parts of the Stampin’ Addicts birthday celebration, and I hope you’re enjoying it too.

If you’re hopping in order, you’ve just been admiring Yapha’s creations at Rubber Stampin & Card Making with Yapha.  Aren’t her projects with the shaving cream technique fantastic?

Here at InkPaperStamps, we’re celebrating SA’s birthday by throwing a punch art pizza party–with a little help from the new Sizzix petal cone die, a Stampin’ Up! exclusive.  To add to the fun, we’re also offering some blog candy!

So, who’s ready for some birthday pizza and punch art?

PETAL CONE CARD:  Mouthwatering Pizza Party Invitation

Mmmmmmmmm, pizza party!

The invitation sets the tone for any party, and a Petal Cone slice card (loaded with punch art toppings) practically shouts ‘Don’t miss this fun time!’    (For a separate view, click on image once–then from that screen click again for a close up.)

What punch art cuties are scattered across the card?

Well let’s see. . . there’s black olives. . . green peppers. . . sliced mushrooms. . . Italian sausage.  Hey, where are the anchovies?!?!?  Must have run off with the pepperoni. . . .

6×6 SCRAPBOOK PAGE:  Punch Art Tablecloth Sets the Table

A Blooming Mighty Kahuna--only available at 5th Street Pizza 972.396.5557--deserves a scrapbook page to itself.

Next, let’s try punch art at its most basic:  just squares and more squares.

With the right colors and a modicum of patience, 3/4″ squares offer a lot of design possibilities.  Start simply and alternate red and white squares.  Once you have seven rows and columns, mat it to use as a checkered tablecloth background on a 6″x6″ scrapbook page.

Now all you need is a photo of the party’s star:  the pizza, with all the birthday kid’s favorite toppings, of course.

THANK YOU CARD:  How to Use Up Leftover Anchovies

Nothing says thank you like a punch art anchovy.

At the end of every pizza party, what does the birthday kid have left?  A smattering of picked-off anchovies and a big stack of thank you notes to write.

Put the former to good use while you knock out the latter with a punch art anchovy thank you card.  Just be sure to wash the ol’ hands before the writing starts–no one really cares for the aroma of days-old anchovy oil in their mail box.

Since these projects are a bit ‘out of the box’, tutorials for each of these projects are in the works.  If you’d like to be among the first to see them, kindly subscribe to InkPaperStamps’ free updates.
