Sizzix Island Floral Bigz Die: Christmas Creations

Welcome to Stop #20 on the Stampin Addicts 2010 Summer Mini Blog Hop

If you’re hopping in order, you’ve just been at the Stampin’ Bunny, admiring the exotic creations of Rhonda (rhondag on Stampin’ Addicts) using Tropical Party, the coordinating Island Oasis DSP and Sizzix’ Island Floral Bigz die.  (So Rhonda, just how do we get an invitation to that funky fun luau of yours?  I wanna be on the guest list!)

Here at InkPaperStamps, we’re also playing with the new Sizzix Island Floral die (and, to add to the adventure, offering some blog candy).  But instead of summer fun, we’re crankin’ this versatile die though the ol’ Big Shot to crank out some holiday cheer.

A pretty poinsettia to grace your gift tags.

First, let’s set the mood by doing a little hall decking.

Of course, I’m partial to holly greens. . . but in my book, it’s the poinsettias that add a stately elegance to Christmas decor.

So tuck a few poinsettias under the tree.  Presents large and small will be given in style when flagged with this understated, yet eyecatching, gift tag

(Click on image once for a larger view.  Click again to zoom in further.)

Who can resist this sweet fellow?
Now it’s time to preheat the oven:  there’s holiday baking to be done!

Slide your Tropical Island die into the oven (no, on second thought, seriously, don’t)–with a little crafty cookin’, out pops this jaunty gingerbread man!

Mr. GingerB the Man is the perfect messenger to deliver invitations to a neighborhood cookie exchange or holiday coffee.

(And yes, he *is* a bit chubby–but hey, he’s the cookie exchange spokesman. . . . and maybe he also helps out with the taste-testing a little. Okay, maybe a lot.)

Run, run, reindeer!
Well, we’ve found a poinsettia and a gingerbread man in the Island Floral tropical jungle so far. . .

what else could be hiding in there?

Shhhhhhhhh, I think I heard something. . . . .

Is it. . . Dasher?  Dancer?  Prancer? Vixen?

Comet?  Cupid? Donner? Blitzen?  No, it’s. . . .

RUDOLPH!!!!!!!!

(Bet you weren’t expecting that one, huh!)

And now, for the blog candy: would you like a chance (or five) to win set of six Island Floral poinsettia gift tags?

If so, you may submit up to five entries in this giveaway, one for each of these:

Now it’s time to continue on the hop–next stop: Stampin’ My Life Away, where Lisa (LisaMNaples on Stampin Addicts) is featuring the new July Fourth set and coordinating Red, White & Blue wheel.  (I love how she made her Pretties patriotic!)
